Trento, Dec. 19 (LaPresse) – Avalanche danger is increasing in Trentino above 2,400 meters. This is reported in the daily avalanche bulletin of Euregio, the institutional axis of Trento-Bolzano-Innsbruck. "Weak layers in the old snow require attention," the report states. "Hazardous points are found particularly on very steep slopes facing north and east above approximately 2,400 meters. Avalanches can, in isolated cases, detach within the old snow and reach medium sizes. Special attention should be paid to very steep slopes facing northwest, north, and east. Slopes near ridges are particularly unfavorable. The wind-drifted snow from recent days remains, in isolated cases, unstable. Hazardous points are found on very steep shaded slopes at high altitudes. These points are easily recognizable by experienced hikers. On steep grassy slopes, isolated small snow slip avalanches are possible."
