Milan, December 19 (LaPresse) – "The significant damages caused during student occupations at Gullace High School (€2 million) and Virgilio High School (€60,000), both in Rome, and most recently, the devastation of the Pacinotti and Da Vinci institutes in Pisa, are unacceptable. The Ministry will request to act as a civil party in the criminal trials against those responsible to obtain compensation for the damages. Those who ruin a school must pay to restore it, and taxpayers should no longer bear the cost," declared Education and Merit Minister Giuseppe Valditara.
He added: "We are facing acts of sheer vandalism that have nothing to do with the free expression of opinions and dissent. These acts also compromise the rights of all other students to study in their schools."
