Milan, Dec. 22 (LaPresse) – Italian families will spend €108 on average for Christmas lunch this year, with 88% of them celebrating at home or at the homes of relatives and friends, hosting an average of eight guests. This is according to a Coldiretti/Ixe’ survey on the highlight of the holiday season, which confirms the traditional trend of spending December 25th at home with family. Although the budget is slightly down compared to 2023 (-6%), the relative majority of families (30%) plan to spend between €50 and €100, according to Coldiretti. Meanwhile, 23% will spend up to €150, 11% up to €200, and 4% will reach €300 (with another 4% exceeding that amount). Only 10% will keep costs below €30, 13% will spend between €30 and €50, and 5% prefer not to answer. Significant regional differences also emerge, with the South reaching an average of €121 per family, while the Northwest stops at €96.
