Iran, Crosetto: "Since day one, the government has been working to free Cecilia Sala"

Milan, Dec. 27 (LaPresse) – "Negotiations with Iran cannot, unfortunately, be resolved through the involvement of Western public opinion or the strength of popular outrage, but only through high-level political and diplomatic action. Italy is working tirelessly to secure her release, exploring every possible avenue." This is what Defense Minister Guido Crosetto wrote on X regarding the arrest of Italian journalist Cecilia Sala in Tehran. "From the very first day, since the news of Cecilia Sala’s unacceptable arrest by Iranian authorities, the entire government, led by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Foreign Minister Tajani, has been working to secure her release. Every person who could and can be useful in achieving this goal has been mobilized," Crosetto added.
