Turin, Dec. 19 (LaPresse) – The indicator monitoring out-of-home cultural participation among the population aged 6 and above stands at 35.2%, an increase of 12 percentage points compared to 2022 (23.1%). For the first time in four years, the figure has returned to levels observed before the pandemic (35.1% in 2019). The report is curated by the General Directorate for Education, Research, and Cultural Institutions of the Ministry of Culture and the School of Cultural Heritage and Activities Foundation.
According to the data, the percentage of people aged 6 and above who visited a library at least once in the past 12 months also increased, rising from 10.2% in 2022 to 12.4% in 2023, though it has not yet returned to the 2019 level (15.3%) (Bes 2023).
