Turin, Dec. 20 (LaPresse) – Ryanair has "condemned the shortsighted and regressive decision by the Italian government to increase passenger taxes for travelers departing from the largest Italian airports starting April 1, 2025." The low-cost airline stated in a press release that "this tax increase will force airlines, such as Ryanair, to reconsider their plans for Italy in 2025, with severe consequences for connectivity, tourism, and jobs, particularly in Rome, where increased air connectivity is essential to support inbound tourism during the Jubilee Year."

The company "urges the Italian government to immediately revoke this shortsighted tax increase to preserve year-round capacity, traffic growth, and tourism for Italy and its citizens," the statement concluded.
