Brussels, Dec. 19 (LaPresse) – "We are the opposition in Brussels, and we aim to become the majority in Brussels. It will take years, but we are working for closer cooperation and friendship," Viktor Orban said during a pre-EU summit meeting of the political group Patrioti in Brussels, attended by Minister Matteo Salvini, according to his spokesperson on social media.

Prime Minister Orban drew a parallel with Donald Trump, stating: "We aim to change everything in Brussels: stop migration, abandon gender ideologies, push for peace, and lower energy prices to restore Europe's economic competitiveness."

Speaking about the war in Ukraine, Prime Minister Orban proposed a Christmas truce to prevent further deaths on the battlefield during the holidays. "History shows that it is possible: let's give simple and humane ideas a chance," he emphasized, encouraging prisoner exchanges during the truce.

Regarding strengthening alliances, Prime Minister Orban highlighted plans with former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki to deepen cooperation among the Patrioti for Europe and other conservative groups, which could lead to greater unity in the future.
