Avignon (France), Dec. 19 (LaPresse/AP) – The Avignon court has found Dominique Pelicot, the ex-husband of Gisèle Pelicot, guilty of aggravated rape and all other charges against him. The verdict was read by the court's chief judge, Roger Arata. The sentence, which could reach up to 20 years in prison, has not yet been issued. The case, of historic significance, has deeply shaken France in recent months. Dominique Pelicot, 72, admitted to drugging his wife of 50 years for years in order to abuse her.
