Milan, December 18 (LaPresse/AP) – U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has rejected a bipartisan plan to prevent a government shutdown, the temporary closure of non-essential government activities. The tycoon effectively rejected the agreement, which in its draft bill to avoid the shutdown allocates funds for natural disasters and farmers. The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, will now have to develop a new plan before Friday's deadline to keep the government open. "Republicans need to get smart and tough. If Democrats threaten to shut down the government unless we give them everything they want, then we must call their bluff," Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance said in a joint statement.
