Turin, 22 December (LaPresse) – President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Tilman Joseph Fertitta as US ambassador to Italy. Fertitta, of Sicilian origin, was born in Galveston, Texas, in 1957. ‘He is a successful entrepreneur, founder and builder of one of our country's leading entertainment and real estate companies, employing some 50,000 Americans,’ Trump explained. The new ambassador to Italy, he continues, ‘has a long history of contributing to the community through numerous philanthropic initiatives, including children's charities, law enforcement, and the medical sector. In addition, Tilman is the chairman of the University of Houston Board of Regents, with the longest tenure in history. He also owns the Houston Rockets basketball team.’ ‘Congratulations to Tilman and his amazing family!’ concluded Trump.
