Rome, Dec. 24 (LaPresse) – Israel will begin targeting Houthi leaders, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz declared, vowing not to allow missile and drone attacks on Israel to continue unchecked, reports Times of Israel.
"As we dealt with Sinwar in Gaza, Haniyeh in Tehran, and Nasrallah in Beirut, we will deal with the Houthi leaders in Sana'a or elsewhere in Yemen," Katz said. "We will act against both their infrastructure and their leaders to eliminate the threat."
The minister also issued a warning to the Houthis' Iranian backers, promising that "anyone who sponsors them will pay the price."
The Times of Israel noted that targeting Houthi leaders marks an escalation by Israel, which has so far focused on targeting the group's port infrastructure and military sites.
