Siria: media, scontri tra forze sicurezza e combattenti pro Assad

Turin, Dec. 26 (LaPresse) – Syrian security forces have launched an operation against pro-Assad fighters in the western province of Tartus, according to state media cited by Al Arabiya. The operation aimed to "restore security, stability, and civil peace" in the region and has "neutralized a number" of fighters.

The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that three people were killed during the operation, adding that they were "armed men loyal to the former regime" of ousted President Bashar al-Assad. Yesterday, according to the Observatory, 14 security forces members and three armed men were killed in the town of Khirbet al-Maaza.
