Madrid (Spain), Dec 17 (LaPresse) – The Valencia Prosecutor's Office has given the green light to open an investigation into the potential criminal liability of Valencia’s governor, Carlos Mazón, regarding the management of the Dana. El País reports that the prosecutor outlined this position in a document submitted to the High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community, which has agreed to consolidate into a single case the seven complaints and legal actions filed against Mazón as the main figure responsible for handling the flood that caused over 220 victims.
The Spanish newspaper explains that of the seven complaints and legal actions merged into this case, six target Carlos Mazón, or him along with former Emergency and Interior Minister Salomé Pradas. Only one of these actions foresees the possibility of investigating any other authority deemed criminally responsible following the inquiry.
