Jerusalem, 26 Dec (LaPresse/AP) – The Israeli attorney general has asked the police to open an investigation into Sara Netanyahu, the prime minister's wife, on suspicion of interfering in the corruption trial involving her husband. This was announced in a note by the Israeli Ministry of Justice. The investigation focuses on the contents of an investigative report according to which Sara Netanyahy allegedly sent a series of messages – discovered by investigators – to a former aide in charge of organising protests against her husband's political opponents and intimidating Hadas Klein, a key witness in the trial. Benjamin Netanyahu responded by calling the report a ‘liar’.
