Toronto (Canada), Dec 16 (LaPresse) – In Canada, Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland, long the most powerful minister in the Justin Trudeau-led government, has announced her resignation. The news comes as Trudeau faces a decline in popularity. Freeland, who was also deputy prime minister, said Trudeau told her on Friday he no longer wanted her as finance minister and offered her another role in the Cabinet. The only ‘honest and viable course’ is to leave the Cabinet, Freeland said in her resignation letter.
