Milan, 28 December (LaPresse) – Actress Olivia Hussey, best known for her role in director Franco Zeffirelli's 1968 version of William Shakespeare's ‘Romeo and Juliet’, died on 27 December at the age of 73. This was reported to the San Francisco Chronicle by director and friend Marc Huestis, and the newspaper writes that the cause of death is believed to be cancer. ‘I adored her,’ Huestis commented, ‘she had so much love and was the most beautiful Juliet ever. On screen and in real life, she exuded love and life'. Shortly after this announcement came an official announcement from the family via a post on Instagram: ‘It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Olivia Hussey Eisley, who passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on 27 December,’ the post read. ‘Born on 17 April 1951 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Olivia lived a life full of passion, love and dedication to the arts, spirituality and kindness to animals,’ the family adds.
