Football: Salzburg, Letsch is new coach

Rome, Dec 18 (LaPresse) – Thomas Letsch is the new coach of Salzburg. The 56-year-old German coach has signed a contract with the Austrian club until 30 June 2027. His previous coaching commitments include the U16 and U18 teams of the Red Bull Football Academy and Salzburg's Youth League team. He also worked as head coach for FC Liefering, as well as assistant coach and interim head coach (for two matches) for Salzburg's first team. His experience at other levels and in other countries includes Austria Vienna, Vitesse Arnheim and VfL Bochum. Thomas Letsch will also be joined by 39-year-old German Kai Hesse, who will work as an assistant coach (he had previously worked for Schalke 04 II, Hannover 96 and Arminia Bielefeld). ‘This is a special club for me, with which I have already experienced a few things and now I can return as head coach. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone here at the club as quickly as possible. It is important that we grow together as a team,' said Letsch after the appointment.
