Turin, Dec. 19 (LaPresse) – Numia Vero Volley Milano bounced back in their third Pool A match of the Club World Championship, defeating Egypt's Zamalek Sporting Club with a clear 3-0 victory. The match was crucial for securing a semifinal spot, and coach Lavarini’s team achieved their goal by ensuring Zamalek did not score more than 49 points overall—a mission accomplished.
Numia Vero Volley took control early in the first set, starting with a 9-0 run and maintaining a commanding lead (14-4, 21-7, and 25-9), leaving no doubt about the outcome. The second set followed a similar pattern, with several substitutions by Milano: 7-1, 14-4, 20-11, and 25-13.
In the third set, Zamalek started strongly (1-4), but their momentum was short-lived. Numia regained control before the 10-point mark (9-8) and never looked back, closing the set at 25-18 (18-8, 22-12).
To determine their next opponent, Milano will wait for the matches that decide the top two positions in Pool A and the rankings in Group B. However, captain Orro and her teammates continue their Club World Championship journey as protagonists: with two wins out of three matches, Numia and the Vero Volley Consortium are among the top four teams in the world.
