Turin, Dec. 20 (LaPresse) – "People ask if we’re playing for the Scudetto: we don’t use that word, but it’s hard to deny that we’re there and using clichés like, 'It’s still a long way to go…'. But there will come a moment when we’ll have to say: here are our objectives. Not yet, though: I still see Inter as the strongest."
These were the words of Marten de Roon, a cornerstone of Gasperini’s Atalanta, in an interview with 'La Gazzetta dello Sport.'
"The principles remain the same, but now we put in even more physicality and effort. And when Scamacca returns, we’ll have even more attacking options: he’ll be crucial if at times we can’t play as well as we’re doing now," he added.
"We’re much more solid. And complete. Against Inter, the back three was me, Djimsiti, and Ruggeri. Now, with Scalvini back, there are six or seven players for three spots. And the forwards have understood that their first job is to defend: it helps us a lot."
