The turning point came in the second half, with the Ohio team stepping on the accelerator and not giving the opponents a chance to respond. Donovan Mitchell scored 27 points. The Philadelphia 76ers also defended their home court, beating the Charlotte Hornets 108-98. Joel Embiid narrowly missed a double-double with 34 points and 9 assists, while Tyrese Maxey added 23 points. For the Hornets, LaMelo Ball scored 20 points. The Oklahoma City Thunder won on the road against the Miami Heat, 104-97. Jalen Williams led the way with 33 points, matched by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander with 25 points and 7 assists. Tyler Herro had 28 points and 12 rebounds, while Bam Adebayo contributed 17 points and 19 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the loss for Miami.
