Rome, Dec. 24 (LaPresse) – Sophie Hediger, a member of the Swiss national snowboardcross team, tragically died yesterday in an avalanche in Arosa at the young age of 26. "We are stunned and our thoughts are with Sophie’s family, to whom we extend our deepest condolences," said Walter Reusser, CEO of Swiss-Ski. Sophie Hediger grew up in Horgen and spent much of her time in Arosa. It was there that her life was tragically and abruptly cut short while she was enjoying freeriding, a hobby she was deeply passionate about.
