Naples, 17 Dec. (LaPresse) – The Anti-Mafia Investigative Directorate is executing a personal and remand order, issued by the Naples gip at the request of the Neapolitan DDA, against 53 people, investigated for various reasons for mafia-type association, extortion, possession of weapons and others, believed to be affiliated to the Amato-Pagano camorristic clan active in the municipalities of Melito and Mugnano, in the province of Naples, and partly in the Secondigliano and Scampia neighbourhoods, in the northern area of the Campania capital. The measure stems from the investigations carried out by the Naples Dia Operations Centre, coordinated by the local DDA, against top members of the Amato-Pagano clan, a criminal association established following the bloody ‘split’ from the historical Di Lauro clan, and for this reason also referred to as the ‘breakaway’ clan.
