Rome, 23 December (LaPresse) – Manslaughter against unknown persons. The Rome Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into the death of Francesca Ianni, the 45-year-old woman killed by a tree that fell after a strong gust of wind in the ‘Livio Labor’ park in Via Massini in Colli Aniene. The woman was with her three minor children, who were unharmed, and another woman, aged 45, who was injured and taken to the emergency room. The tree was seized together with a portion of the area where the collapse occurred. In recent days, the public prosecutor's office had closed another investigation into the collapse of the tree in November 2023 in Via di donna Olimpia in Monteverde in which a woman was killed. In the investigation, in which 23 people are under investigation and in which several tree and branch collapses have been examined, the offences range from manslaughter to culpable disaster.
