Vatican City (Vatican), Dec 24 (LaPresse) – ‘Yesterday Pope Francis called us, wished us a Merry Christmas and gave us his blessing. He calls every day at 8 o'clock’. Thus to LaPresse, Father Gabriel Romanelli, parish priest of the only parish in Gaza. Father Romanelli tells how Gaza is preparing for Christmas Eve and the beginning of the Jubilee. ‘We will celebrate at sunset, not later, also for various security reasons,’ says Father Romanelli. ’Refugees will participate, Christians are with us. We will begin the services at 4 p.m. with the Rosary, at 4.30 p.m. there will be the Christmas Eve Office, and at 5.15 p.m. the solemn Mass with a message on the meaning of Christmas and the Jubilee. After the solemn celebration there will be Adoration of the Infant Jesus and then we will distribute some sweets with coffee after Mass and there will be a small surprise for the refugee children here with some gifts that we have put aside so that they can experience a little peace this Christmas despite this terrible war that we are experiencing with deaths and injuries. Furthermore, the wish is that there can be a ceasefire as soon as possible’.
